Su named NCAC Athlete of the Week after his performance at the Spartan Invite

CLEVELAND – A fantastic first race has garnered a nice honor for one of the stars of John Carroll Men's Cross Country.

For the second time in two seasons, Sam Su is the North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week.

Su has become a standout for the Blue Streaks, developing into one of the team's most dependable and fastest runner. Hailing from a cradle of distance runners, Woodridge High School, Su has become a marvel to watch.

In a field of top runners, including a host of Division I stars, Su more than held his own. At the Spartan Invite, hosted by Michigan State at Forest Akers East Golf Course in East Lansing, Su finished 18th.

The Akron native earned a new personal best time of 25:02.6 with his top-20 finish on Friday.

Su has his eyes on lofty goals this year. Next up on his to do list is the Paul Short Run on October 2.
