Blue Streaks Shut Out In Road Contest Against Catholic University

WASHINGTON D.C. – Men's soccer suffers their first defeat of the 2026 season.

Just three days after earning a victory in their home opener, the Blue Streaks competed in their first road trip at the Turk Emekli Classic, facing Catholic University from Carlini Field this evening.

The Blue & Gold had no answer for the Cardinals as the team lost by a final score of 4-0.

With both teams trading the ball for the first 10 minutes of the match, an early foul in the box committed by Owen Szucs resulted in a penalty kick goal for the Cardinals to score the first goal of the game.

Catholic University continued to put pressure on the Blue Streak defense as they would tally another goal ten minutes later.

Another goal from the Cardinals allowed them to build upon their lead and hold JCU to five shots, while committing ten fouls throughout the first half, which did not help contribute to limiting the chances for the Cardinals.

The momentum kept on rolling for the hosts as an early second half goal from Catholic propelled their offense, resulting in a total of eight shots on target for the whole game.

A goalie change from Head Coach Dejan Mladenovic '06, 25G would allow Michael Antry to make an appearance in the match.

With several adjustments made in the second half, nothing came about for JCU to cut their deficit.

Louis Roseberry and Matt Hribar both recorded a pair of shots for the whole game, while Luka Pranjeta had one shot on goal.
