Jamie Colley had her best day as a Blue Streak in a win over Johnson & Wales with four RBI

John Carroll was having a strong showing in Florida, but on its final day of the trip, posted two of its more impressive victories in recent memory.
On Friday after taking its only day off of the week, the Blue Streaks offense did not suffer as a result. To the contrary, JCU erupted for 11 runs in a pair of wins over Johnson & Wales (11-3) and Plattsburgh State (11-4).
Jamie Colley (Houston, TX, St. Agnes Academy) was the hitting star in the day's first game, collecting a triple to go with a career-high four RBI.
Sam Thompson (Cheektowaga, NY, Maryvale) had three RBI of her own in support of
Lauren Beatty (Columbus, OH, Whitehall), who pitched her first collegiate win.
Against Plattsburgh,
Brittany Danilov (Canfield, OH, Canfield) struck out nine while the offense continued its roll.
Tricia Kuenzig (Chagrin Falls, OH, Chagrin Falls) tallied a triple and two RBI, while
Jamie Smrdel (Kirtland, OH, Beaumont) ripped a pair of doubles.
On Saturday, John Carroll had two powerful opponents to measure itself against. First up was Washington University of Missouri, the #16 ranked team in Division III. The Blue Streaks received yet another tremednous effort from Danilov, who shutout the Bears. in the meantime, the offense rolled up nine runs to record a 9-0 victory in six innings.
Thompson had a double and two RBI as part of John Carroll's strong showing at the plate.
In the final game of the trip, JCU bested the College Of New Jersey -- a program with six NCAA Division III titles on its resume -- by a 2-0 score. Danilov notched three strikeouts in her second win of the day.
In ten games, JCU outscored the opposition, 80-15.
