The John Carroll men's tennis team faced off against cross-town rivals from Baldwin-Wallace at the Lou Higgins Recreation Center in Berea, Ohio on Tuesday.
The Yellow Jackets, who are a top contestant for the Ohio Athletic Conference title, defeated the Blue Streaks 7-2. It was only John Carroll's second loss in eight OAC matches this year.
Baldwin-Wallace won two of the thre doubles matches, while John Carroll tallied a win with Chad Ruehs and Matt Tomayko at #1 doubles. The match was close; however, the duo defeated the Yellow Jackets 8-6.
In the singles line-up, James Steward earned the only point for the Blue Streaks. Steward defeated Jim Kucera in straight sets 6-2 6-3.
JCU is now 9-9 overall and 6-2 in the OAC, while Baldwin-Wallace is 17-3 overall and 6-2 in the conference.
