John Carroll's impressive 1-2-3 finish in the 100 Freestyle pulled the Blue Streaks close, but in the end, it would not be enough to avert a 134-104 loss Friday Night at the Johnson Natatorium to neighborhood rival Notre Dame College

JCU picked up wins in the 50 Free and 100 Free with
Alex Vereshchagin (Solon, OH, Solon) leading the way in both. Vereshchagin finished first in the 50 Free (21.85), then led a clean sweep of the 100 Free with ja winning time of 48.36.
Jimmy Ranallo (Willoughby, OH, Notre-Dame Cathedral Latin) (50.05) was second and
David Sved (Loudonville, OH, Mansfield St. Peters) (50.37) placed third.
The Blue Streaks alsocaptured the final event of the night, the 200 Free Relay. The quartet of Vereshchagin,
Nick Holvey (Akron, OH, Revere ), Sved and Ranallo won by an eight second margin with a time of 1:30.02.
