JCU Men's Golf Pulls Off Exacta By Winning OAC Spring Tournament And Regular Season Title On Same Day

Sam Scala had a solid three days for John Carroll as the Blue Streaks won the OAC Spring Tournament and OAC Regular Season Trophy

Even with a seven stroke lead after day one of the 2010 Ohio Athletic Conference Spring Regular Season Tournament, the Blue Streaks faced an uphill battle to win the crown.

There were two prizes at stake in the 54-hole event staged Saturday and Sunday at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio. One was winning the spring tournament, the other was claiming the league's regular season title which is a combination of scores from the fall and spring tournaments.

In one fell swoop, John Carroll claimed both.

The Blue Streaks' score of 912 was five strokes better than Baldwin-Wallace at 917, and combined with their mark of 630 from the fall, won the regular season trophy with a tally of 1542 -- one stroke better than fall tournament winner Otterbein (618-925=1543).
