John Carroll was hoping for a revival in its volleyball season after snapping an eight-match losing streak last evening against Ohio Wesleyan.
Playing against Muskingum University Friday evening, the Blue Streaks' revival proved to be short lived.
The Muskies, who had dropped nine of their last ten matches, found their groove with a 25-21, 25-17, 25-22 victory in an Ohio Athletic Conference match.

After falling down 16-5 in game one, coach Cally Plummer's Blue Streak squad came back strong, but fell short to the Muskies, at one point pulling within three points.
In game three, there were eight ties and five lead changes, but a late run by Muskingum put JCU on the defensive.
John Carroll staved off two match points before falling by a 25-22 count in the final frame.

The Blue Streaks attack was led by sophomores Gina Catania and Charlotte Sykora, who tallied eight kills apiece. Catania also racked up a 22 assists. Defensively, newly minted junior libero Jess Hammer had 14 digs, and Laura Sudo had two blocks.
Muskingum improved to 12-12 overall and 2-4 in the OAC, while the Blue Streaks slipped to 9-14 and 0-5 in league play.
