Blue Streaks Roll Past Heidelberg In Women's Tennis To Solidify OAC Playoff Status

John Carroll further enhanced its chances to host an Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal round match next week by rolling past Heidelberg, 9-0, Thursday afternoon at Lakewood Racquet Club in Lexington, Ohio.

Playing their first match in nine days, the Blue Streaks showed no signs of rust. Maria Ciccolini and Cassie Simmelink rolled to an 8-3 win at #1 doubles, while Allison Mora and Deanna Bouchahine cruised to an 8-1 win in the #2 match

The newly minted team of Melissa Dillon and Julia Ciccolini, paired together at #3 doubles, came through with an 8-6 victory over Taylor Stoll and Linda Miller.

JCU won all six singles matches in straight sets. Maria Ciccolini and Bouchahine won without dropping a single game.

Simmerlink at #2, Athena Pappis at #3, Emily Gorndt at #4 and Allison Mora at #5 also picked up wins.

John Carroll is now 7-10 overall and 5-2 (3rd) in the OAC, while Heidelberg slips to 2-14 and 1-6 in league play.
