Maria Ciccolini rallied with doubles partner Cassie Simmelink to capture John Carroll's only victory against Baldwin-Wallace.
For the first time this season, the John Carroll women's tennis team was able to compete outside in Ohio at cross-town rival Baldwin-Wallace on Saturday to face the defending Ohio Athletic Conference champions.
The Yellow Jackets proved to be a top conference competitor again, however, as they prevailed 8-1 over the Blue Streaks.

In doubles competition, the match appeard that it would be competitive. At number 1 singles,
Maria Ciccolini and
Cassie Simmelink bounced back from being down to clinch an 8-6 victory and earn the lone doubles point for the Blue Streaks. Number 3 doubles,
Allison Mora and Deanna Boucahene also provided a fight; however, they fell 7-2 in a tiebreaker to lose the match 8-7.
John Carroll hoped to fight back to win the match with victories in singles, similar to last week's match against Otterbein. Baldwin-Wallace, however, was able to win all six singles matches in straight sets.
Baldwin-Wallace advances their record to 10-6 overall and 3-0 in conference play, while John Carroll's record is 3-10 overall and 1-2 in OAC competition.
