JCU Volleyball Turns In Another Three-Out-of-Four Weekend At Marcia French Invitational

Sarah Slagle played her way onto the Marcia French Invitational all-tournament team thanks to 42 kills in four matches
For the second time in as many tournament this season, the John Carroll volleyball etam won three of its scheduled four matches.

That solid weekend effort turned in at the Marcia French Invitational held at Horsburgh Gymnasium on the campus of Case Western reserve in Cleveland, Ohio, has the Blue Streaks sitting at a 7-2 record through uits first nine matches of 2011.

Box Scores:  vs. Oberlin  /  vs. Westminster  /  vs. Franciscan  /  vs. Bluffton


JCU swept Oberlin to start its tournament run Friday, then came from down a set on two occasions to defeat Westminster in five games. The Streaks won the deciding frame by a 15-12 count.

On Saturday morning, JCU improved to 3-0 with a four-game victory over Franciscan.

Bluffton would halt John Carroll's five-match winning streak in the final match of the tournament for the Blue Streaks.

Sarah Slagle, who netted 42 kills over the two days of action, was named to the all-tournament team.
