Box Score On the year's first cool night at Don Shula Stadium, the John Carroll women's soccer team found a way to stay hot.

After a defensive battle in the first half that was reminiscent of a 0-0 tie between the two teams a year ago in Pennsylvania, John Carroll (4-2) continued to look for ways to score.
As the second half clock tucked under 30 minutes,
Colleen Harmon dribbled down the right side and lofted a pass across the box to
Eleanor Sovacool. Defended well, Sovacool slipped a pass back to
Jackie Murrer, who drilled a low liner past the Titans keeper at the 29:51 mark that gave her team a lead they would never lose.
“Eleanor (Sovacool) set me up with a perfect pass,” said Murrer. “Luckily, I was able to sneak it past two defenders on the ground.”
It was Murrer's second career goal and first since tallying one against Medaille on September 18, 2010
The win for head coach Tracy Blasius's team was not solely based on luck, as the dynamic goal-keeping duo of
Nicole Grys and
Lexi Korczynski recorded their second straight shutout. In the last three minutes, Korczynski recorded two huge saves to secure the win.
“I wanted to finish what Nicole started,” said Korczynski. “With the conditions tonight, I didn't want us to have to go to overtime."
In all, JCU fired off 24 shots compared to eight for Westminster, which fell to 0-2-1 with the loss.
.
“We have a few new players, but the girls have done a great job coming together as a team,” said Blasius. “We just keep finding ways to score."
