Three Women's Soccer Players Garner Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association Awards

A trio of Blue Streaks did good work on and off the field this year

The Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association released the All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio teams, which includes three Blue Streaks. 

Alli Malinky, Emily Patrzyk, and Kathryn Shaffer secured recognition from the OCSA following another remarkable season. 

Finishing off an exceptional career as a Blue Streak, Emily Patrzyk earned First Team All-Ohio and Academic Honors. The senior forward tallied 36 goals and 14 assists in 82 appearances in her career. The Twinsburg native was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team. Patrzyk, NCAC Offensive Player of the Year and All-NCAC First Team recipient. The Accounting major also excelled in the classroom, as Patrzyk earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. 

Senior defender Kathryn Shaffer ends her career with OCSA First Team All-Ohio and Academic Honors. The Cincinnati native joined Patrzyk on the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team. Shaffer was a steady presence for the Blue Streaks, playing 1,675 minutes, logging 90 minutes in 16 of John Carroll's 20 games. The senior defender earned All-NCAC First Team honors, while also excelling in the classroom. The Marketing major also earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. 

Finally, senior midfielder Alli Malinky snagged OCSA Second Team All-Ohio and Academic Honors. Malinky was exceptional for the Blue Streaks, starting in all 20 games and playing 1,635 minutes. The Canfield native was named to the All-NCAC First Team, all while shining in the classroom. Along with Patrzyk and Shaffer, Malinky earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team as an Exercise Science major.
