Box Score

With much of the Blue Streak faithful uneasy about the 2012-13 season following the graduation of seven seniors, the new-look men's basketball team took a big step in restoring the faith with a 67-56 season opening victory over Grove City College at the Penn State-Behrend Tip-Tournament in Erie, PA.

Kyle Hubbard led the way with 16 points, while David Hendrickson and Danny Wallack added 14 and 12 for the Blue & Gold, who methodically built a 39-28 halftime lead.

Both teams made 31 field goals, but it was the ten 3-pointers hit by John Carroll that made a world of difference.  Hendrickson nailed four treys, while Wallack supplied three and Kyle Pisco chipped in a pair.

JCU, which won depsite committing 25 turnovers, will advance to play in the tournament's championship game on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.  The Streaks will battle the winner of Wells and Penn State-Behrend.
