Script Followed Does Not Deliver Hollywood Ending For Blue Streaks In NCAA Softball Regional

John Carroll reached new heights in 2012, and the future looks bright as well
Box Score If another dramatic ending was in the offing at the NCAA Division III Softball Regional tournament for the John Carroll Blue Streaks, it may have been time to call Hollywood to option the rights to the story.

There would be no drama, however, in Saturday's elimation game against the host school, as Alma made sure to author a much different ending. Single runs by the Scots in the second and sixth inning proved to be all the tallies necessary in a 2-0 win that ended John Carroll's tournament run and season.

John Carroll managed just two hits off Alma junior starting pitcher Louise Rezmer, and never had a runner advance beyond second base.

Samantha Becker and Erin Riccardi were the only Blue Streaks to reach base safely as JCU completed its first venture into the NCAA postseason with a 1-2 record.

“The big thing is I have a lot of sophomores and a lot of younger kids so I'm really excited they were able to get this experience and take this forward with them,” John Carroll's head coach Erin Brooks said following the loss.

John Carroll completed its milestone 2012 campaign witha  record fo 31-15, setting the program record for wins.
