John Carroll University will serve as a host site for the first round of the 2013 NCAA® Division III Football Championship, which will be held Saturday, November 23. Don Shula Stadium at Wasmer Field on the John Carroll campus will serve as the playing site, and the game will feature St. John Fisher College from Rochester, New York, against the host John Carroll Blue Streaks.
Kickoff from University Heights, Ohio, is set for 12:00 noon.
St. John Fisher has a record of 8-2 and hails from the Empire-8 conference. John Carroll has a record of 9-1 and represents the Ohio Athletic Conference. Both schools received at-large bids into the NCAA playoff field from the Pool C category (institutions from automatic qualifying conferences that are not conference champions)
This first round game will feature

WJCU-FM 88.7) and St. John Fisher (

John Carroll is making its fourth appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship tournament, and its first since 2002. Ranked #9 at the end of the regular season by d3football.com and #11 by the American Football Coaches Association, the Blue Streaks will be hosting an NCAA postseason game for the first time in program history. John Carroll's previous seven playoff games, in which it has forged a 4-3 record, were played on the road
The St. John Fisher Cardinals are appearing in the NCAA Championship for the fifth time, and first time since the 2011 season. That year, Fisher earned an at-large bid as well and knocked off Johns Hopkins University and Delaware Valley College before bowing out in the national quarterfinals to St. Thomas.
The Cardinals will enter Saturday's game on a three-game winning streak. and ranked #25 according to the final
d3football.com regular season poll.
The winner will advance to the second round where it will face the winner of Hobart vs. Gallaudet on Saturday, November 30.
