Rachel Byrnes had eight strikeouts in the second game to serve as one of the higlights from a tough first day in Florida.
"It was our first day in the dirt after a long off season," said John Carroll head coach Erin Brooks. "We graduated five players who filled a variety of roles for us, and it may take a few games to adjust to that. We have confidence in these players .... they have to find their way in their new roles."
