Thomas More went to work right away but Blue Streak goalkeeper
Haley McDonald had an answer for the Saints turning three point blank shots away in the first 10 minutes.

"Last year for us she was able to keep us in it all season," said women's soccer head coach
Michael Marich. "Again she took over in the beginning. You saw the actions in the first half, giving the ball away. Unfortunately she was under pressure the entire time. Being able to keep the ball and not having to make those saves will hopefully help at the end of the year."
Â
Thomas More's Courtney Clark found the back of the net in the 12th minute for the game's first score. The Saints' Abby Osborne buried a free kick in the top left corner of the goal to put Thomas More up 2-0 just before halftime.

Opening at home for the first time since 2009, the Blue Streaks broke through with two scoring chances midway through the first half.

Sarah Ruckstuhl fired the Blue Streak's other shot on goal in the 39th minute.
