Faced with a layoff of over a week the John Carroll University men's tennis team showed no signs of rust in its 9-0 sweep over Heidelberg on Tuesday afternoon in Tiffin, Ohio.
John Carroll improved to 8-9, 5-2 OAC on the season while Heidelberg fell to 7-8, 2-5 OAC.
The Blue Streaks rolled from the start winning first and second doubles by identical 8-3 scores.
Alex Messina and
Eric Grimaldi picked up a win via forfeit at No. 3 doubles.
JCU dropped a total of six games in singles play.
Kyle Mollison and Grimaldi finished with unblemished 6-0, 6-0 wins.
Jad Abdul-Aaal and
Sean Graham nearly went unscathed with 6-0, 6-1 wins.
Nick Siciliano rounded out the singles play with a 6-1, 6-3 win. Messina picked up a win via forfeit at No. 6 singles.
John Carroll travels to Marietta for a 1 p.m. contest on Saturday in the regular season finale.
