The John Carroll University men's tennis team opened spring play on Saturday.
 
The Blue Streaks fell 6-3 at host Ohio Wesleyan inside the Gordon Field House in Delaware, Ohio.
 
JCU quickly fell behind 2-1 at the conclusion of doubles and was unable to rally back in singles play. Scott Adsit and Alex Mihas picked up JCU's lone doubles point topping OWU's David Rich and Jacob Volbers 8-6.
 
Jad Abdul-Aal and Alex Guthrie picked up wins at Nos. 1 and 4 singles. Abdul-Aal made quick work of the Battling Bishops' Aadil Kohari taking a 6-3, 6-0 decision. Guthrie topped OWU's Alex Lutz 6-0, 7-5 at No. 4.
 
The men's tennis team will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 20. JCU will host the College of Wooster at 6 p.m. at the Paramount Tennis Club in Medina, Ohio.
