Box Score After nearly two hours of soccer, there was no winner between John Carroll and North Carolina Wesleyan on Friday night.
The John Carroll men's soccer team couldn't find the back of the net in either overtime, as the first game of the Soccer Kicks Cancer Methodist University Invitational ended in a 1-1 deadlock.
North Carolina Wesleyan (1-2-1) opened the scoring with a Drew Wiltse goal in the 26
th minute. John Carroll (2-1-1) responded with a goal from junior
Justin Miller 12 minutes later.
Both teams traded goals again in the second half. In the 74
th minute, sophomore
Dalton Browsky deposited a pass from sophomore
Jesse Marinaro past the goalie. Four minutes later, Wiltse found his teammate, Olafur Einarsson for the equalizer.
Both squads had chances in the final minutes, but the match ended with no go-ahead goal.
The teams were equal in the book, with JCU outshooting Wesleyan, 14-12. Each squad was assessed four yellow cards.
