Box Score In what has become commonplace, the John Carroll men's tennis team stepped onto yet another court where the opponent boasted of either a regional or national ranking.
The follow up season to the Blue Streaks' first NCAA appearance has been one in which the schedule has jumped up several notches in terms of quality, and Saturday at Oberlin was par for the course.
In a close battle, JCU fell to the host Yeomen, the #12 ranked team in the region, by a final score of 5-4. This was the fifth match this season out of seven in which the Blue Streaks have faced a ranked team, with one of the remaining two a Division I team (Loyola of Maryland).

Jad Abdul-Aal and
David Sinense won by an 8-3 count in the #1 doubles match.
The Blue Streaks needed four singles wins to steal the match, but fell one shy of that total. Abdul-Aal came from behind to win his #1 singles match, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3.
Alex Guthrie won in straight sets at #3 while
Nick Siciliano needed a third set to win at #4 singles.
The loss drops John Carroll's record to 1-6 on the season, while Oberlin improved to 8-3.
