Box Score For the first time this season, the John Carroll men's tennis team posted a shutout victory.
A short-handed Muskingum University team arrived at the Western Reserve Raquet Club in Streetsboro, Ohio, with just five players, and the Blue Streaks made quick work to the tune of a 9-0 win. It was the Ohio Athletic Conference opener for the Blue Streaks.
In doubles competition,
Jad Abdul-Aal and
David Sinense won 8-0 in the #1 match, while Ian kurela and Matt Dusky won by an 8-1 score in the #2 match. The #3 match was a forfeit win for JCu.
JCU also won all five singles matches. Abdul-Aal (#1), Sinense (#2),
Alex Mihas (#3),
Scott Adsit (#4) and
Dillon O'Brien (#5) all won in straight sets, with the first four players posting 6-0 6-0 victories. For Mihas, it was his first dual meet singles win since 2014.
John Carroll improved to 2-6 overall and 1-0 in the OAC, while the Fighting Muskies slipped to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in league play.
