The John Carroll men's tennis team cruised to a third consecutive victory Saturday afternoon as the Blue Streaks blanked host Ohio Northern, 9-0, at the Westwood Tennis and Racquet Club in Lima, Ohio
Box ScoreJCU, which began the season by winning just one of its first seven matches, improved upon its season best winning streak by handling the Polar Bears in quick fashion.
In the doubles competition,
Jad Abdul-Aal and
David Sinense in the #1 match and
Tyler Cole and Nick Siciliano in the #3 match rolled to easy wins, while Scott Adsit and
Dillon O'Brien had what was the most challenging match of the day, outlasting David Hayman and Alex Genbauffe, 8-6.
All six singles matches were settled in straight sets. Abdul-Aal had a great match with John Mostowy, grinding out a 6-4 7-5 win at the #1 spot. Sinense had an easier time at #2, as did
Alex Guthrie at #3, Siciliano at #4, Cole at #5 and Adsit at #6. Those five players combined dropped a total of 13 games between them. Cole posted the lone 6-0 6-0 win.
John Carroll is now 4-6 overall and 2-0 in the OAC, while Ohio Northern slips to 1-8 overall and 0-1 in league play.
