In a quarterfinal round match staged at Cleveland State University (that was a rematch of the regular season finale played in Marietta this past Saturday), top-seeded John Carroll got the upper hand quickly over #8 seed Marietta with three convincing wins in doubles play.
Nick Siciliano and
Tyler Cole posted an 8-0 win in their #3 doubles match.
David Sinense and
Alex Guthrie made it official with 6-0 6-0 victories at #2 and #3 singles, respectively.
The Blue Streaks are now 12-7 overall, and the head to Cincinnati for a second consecutive year after experiencing a three-year drought from 2012-14. The Blue Streaks have won 11 of their last 12 matches with the lone loss to the #6 ranked team in Division III (Case Western Reserve University).
Marietta has its seson end at 10-17.
