On Friday afternoon at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio, the top seeded Blue Streaks remained perfect in the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's tennis Tournament, rolling past Baldwin Wallace by a 6-0 count in a semifinal round match.

After bouncing Muskingum by a 5-0 score on Tuesday, the Blue Streaks picked up where they left off by routing the Yellow Jackets in doubles play. In #1 doubles,Â
Lauren O'Malley and
Madisyn Rini ran past Kelsey Blatt and Imani Robinson, 8-1.
Catherine Engel and
Jennifer Stroyne had a similar result at #2 doubles, rolling by Claire Watts and Mackenzie Donalson, 8-2.
Nicolette Bourlas and
Natalie Bourlas wrapped up the final doubles point with an 8-3 win in the #3 match over Shannon Finkenthal and Kathleen Moser.
JCU needed just two points to clinch the victory in singles play, but wound up winning three. Engel blanked Donalson 6-0 6-0 at #4 singles to put JCU ahead by four, and then a simultaneous ending produced the final two points. Within seconds of each other, Stroyne beat Finkenthal 6-2 6-2 in the #6 match, and O'Malley defeated Blatt 6-1 6-1 in the #1 bout.

Nicolette Bourlas at #2 and
Katherine Devine at #5 were all leading their matches when the victory was secured.
In winning their 11th match in a row, John Carroll improved to 15-3 on the season. Baldwin Wallace had its season end with a record of 14-10.
The Blue Streaks will face Otterbein on Saturday, May 7, at 10:00 a.m, in the championship match. The Blue Streaks, who are seeking their first title since 2006, beat Otterbein 8-1 in the regular season.
