Jad Abdul-Aal,
Nick Siciliano and
Alex Guthrie arrived on campus in the fall of 2013, the John Carroll men's tennis program was coming off a 5-13 campaign and were unceremoniously bounced from the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament in the quarterfinals.
As they leave the program, they depart after helping John Carroll win the last three OAC regular season and tournament titles, make three NCAA postseason appearances and capture the first two NCAA Division III tournament victories in school history.
While the amazing run for these three seniors came to an end at the hands of the fifth ranked team in the nation, Wesleyan University, the loss took place in the second round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Championship -- something unthinkable just four years ago.

David Sinense were trailing the team of Michael Liu and Jake Roberts at one point 7-2, but made a spirited comeback to pull to within 7-5. But the Cardinals top duo, ranked #5 in the ITA/Oracle Northeast region, held on for an 8-5 win.
In singles play, JCU trailed in all five matches when the Cardinals closed out the battle with straight set wins in the #1 and #3 bouts.
The loss ends John Carroll's season at 17-8, which matches the 2006 team for most victories in a single season. The second round also matches the deepest advancement in the NCAA postseason, equaling the feat of the 2015 squad.
