This past weekend, the rowing team competed in their first official spring regatta, Redhawk Sprints. The race was hosted by Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. The eight other teams in attendance proved to be great competition for the team. This regatta was a great opportunity for the team to race in various lineups and continue to improve. Despite the rainy weather, the team put forth a great effort and hopes that their efforts will show in upcoming races.
In addition, the team spent their first night in Oxford camping at Hueston Woods state park. They arrived Friday night to pitch their tents and build a fire at the campsite. Unfortunately, the good weather did not hold out the next day, so the team returned to John Carroll after the race rather than camping the following night. Although it was a fun experience, the team looks forward to staying indoors next weekend!
