John Carroll Wins 15 Of 16 Events To Post Largest Margin Of Victory Against Mount Union

John Carroll won 15 of a possible 16 events to defeat Mount Union by a final score of 205-89, which marks the largest margin of victory in the history of the series.

Results

It started right away. The "A team" quartet of Liam McDonnell, Jackson Cooper, Mason Beck, and Westin Fishel won the 400 Medley Relay to start the meet, finishing with a time of 3:30.64. 

Erik Sriubas finished second in the 1000 Yard Freestyle, swimming in at 10:00.93. He lost by a margin of .13 of a second in the only event JCU did not finish first. He found redemption in his other race, as Sriubas took first in the 500 Yard Freestyle (4:52.36).

Jake Farr took first in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:46.10, followed closely by Aidan O'Neill with a time of 1:47.08.

Going 1-2 in the 100 Yard Backstroke was McDonnell and Jonathan Simoes, finishing with times of 51.34 and 54.19, respectively.

Beck touched first in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:00.59. Beck also finished first in the 200 Yard Backstroke (2:14.48).

Finishing with a 1-2-3 punch in the 50 Yard Freestyle was Adam Lenz, Michael Heller, and Matthew Ramsey, respectively. Their times were 21.35, 21.87, and 21.92.

Taking the top three places in the 100 Yard Freestyle were Lenz (47.62), Farr (49.19), and Ramsey (49.92).

Simoes and Forrest Campbell went 1-2 in the 200 Yard Backstroke with times of 1:56.94 and 2:01.33, respectively.

McDonnell came in first in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 51.43. Finishing in second just a second later was Cooper, who came in at 52.66.

With a time of 4:16.94, Nick Mudry took first place in the 400 Yard IM.

Jack Lausin was a two-time winner in diving for the Blue Streaks.

JCU's A team consisting of Lenz, Heller, McDonnell, and Ramsey took first in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:25.47.

John Carroll, now 2-0 on the season, will next swim on Saturday November 9th at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio at 1:00 PM.
