In each of the last 13 years, the John Carroll University women's soccer team has played in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament. It is the third longest active streak in the league.

The title drought, however, extends all the way back to 2001. That was the first and only time John Carroll has won the OAC Tournament.

After an up and down regular season, and finishing with a 9-6-3 mark overall and a 5-3-1 slate in the OAC, the Blue Streaks qualified for this year's playoff edition as the number four seed. JCU will battle fifth-seeded Baldwin Wallace University (11-8-1, 4-4-1 OAC) in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday evening, October 30. The match will commence at 7:00 p.m. at Don Shula Stadium.

In their regular season match-up held in University Heights on October 23, JCU and BW battled to a 1-1 OT tie. Senior Jaclyn Audino gave John Carroll the lead in the first half, before freshman Brandi Filippi scored in the 60th minute for Baldwin Wallace to tie the game. JCU outshot BW 25-13 in that matchup, including 7-1 in OT.

The Blue Streaks beat Heidelberg last week to clinch a playoff spot and a home game in the OAC Tournament, but fell to Wilmington in their regular season finale.

Audino leads the Blue Streaks in goals, assists and points, with 10, 8, and 28, respectively. Sophomore Brittany Dufalla is second on the team in goals and points, and tied for second in assists (7g 2a 16 pts), while freshman Grace Monnin (6g 2a 14 pts) has also stepped up as a formidable offensive weapon.

Sophomore keeper Danielle DelGiudice has played nearly 1300 minutes in goal this season and has made 72 saves.

Baldwin Wallace will look to carry their current momentum into the tournament as they won their three final games to secure a spot in the postseason. The Yellow Jackets have had success on the road this season, going 6-1-1 away from home this fall.

Senior Kenna Poptic is the main facilitator for Baldwin Wallace. Poptic is tied for second in the OAC with 10 assists, and has also hit the back of the net three times for the Yellow Jackets. Maddie Farrell (5g 10 pts) and Kenna Stones (4g 1a 9 pts) are also reliable pieces to the Yellow Jacket attack.

Senior Emma Bruno has played over 1600 minutes in goal and has made 73 saves.

John Carroll leads the all-time series, 15-8-10, aided by a five-game winning streak from 2008-2011. The Blue Streaks own an all-time record of 9-3-3 record at home against the Yellow Jackets.

JCU and BW both lost in the first round of last year's OAC tournament. The Blue Streaks are 12-18 all-time in OAC Tournament play, winning the 2001 title and finishing as runner-up six times.

The team which advances from this quarterfinal will play either No. 1-seed Ohio Northern or No. 2-seed Capital in the semifinal round on Thursday, Nov. 1.
