Men's Swimming & Diving Fires Past Mount Union on the Road

The Blue Streaks racked up the wins on Saturday. 
ALLIANCE, Ohio – As John Carroll Football dueled Mount Union at Larry Kehres Stadium, JCU Women's Swimming & Diving was shining in the pool. 

The Blue Streaks breezed by the Purple Raiders on Saturday, 174-88.

With the victory, JCU advances to 2-0 in dual meets, both Ohio Athletic Conference meets. 

The Blue Streaks set the tone early in the 400 Medley Relay. Liam McDonnell, Joe Nadur, Bryce Liddell, and Michael Heller did great work with a time of 3:29. The Blue & Gold also nabbed second, as Luke Novak, Jonah Venos, Owen Holm, and Daniel Argalious checked in at 3:35.20. 

John Carroll then went 3-4-5 in the 1000 Free. Aidan O'Neill (10:32.26), Nick Mudry (10:39.51), and Bailey Parsons (10:44.34) got some points for JCU. Then, Nadur continued his outstanding season with a first place finish in the 200 Free with a time of 1:45.23.

To no one's surprise, McDonnell sailed to victory in the 100 Back. The star shined with a time of 51.50. Luke Novak followed in third at 54.65. McDonnell brought home the bacon in the 100 Free with a winning time of 47.09. Holm got the bronze with a time of 48.95. McDonnell could not be stopped in the 200 IM, either, winning handily with a time of 1:57.88. Simoes and Novak followed with times of 2:02.79 and 2:04.15. 

John Carroll dominated the 100 Breaststroke. Jake Farr and Patrick Branch finished very close together at 1-2 with respective times of 1:02.18 and 1:02.34. Joe Kaiser completed the top three with a time of 1:04.02. 

Hunter Cooper followed things up with a third place finish. The youngster touched the wall at 2:04.13 for JCU. 

The Blue Streaks snagged first and third in the 50 Free. Argalious won easily in the 50 Free, firing up a 21.70 time. Heller and Holm took third and fourth with times of 22.24 and 22.29. 
Later, Jonathan Simoes got on the board with a second place finish in the 200 Back. 

The top three in the 200 Breaststroke were all Blue Streaks. Jonah Venos topped the pack at 2:15.50, followed by Patrich Branch at 2:18.72 and Joe Kaiser at 2:26.64. 

The reigning OAC Swimmer of the Week won the goal in the 500 Free. The freshman easily won the race by firing up a time of 4:50.06. Aidan O'Neill followed in third at 4:57.91. 

The 100 Fly also saw a JCU victory, as Bryce Liddell earned first with a time of 52.18. Argalious also wowed with a time of 53.76 for second. 

The 400 Free Relay finished the day with a JCU 1-2 finish. Venos, Farr, Branch, and O'Neill won the day with a time of 3:12.63. Nadur, Heller, Holm, and Argalious combined for a time of 3:13.44. 

Next up, the Blue Streaks have the Kenyon College Invite.
