The Blue Streaks performed well in Westerville.
WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- Today, the John Carroll Track & Field team competed at the All-Ohio D3 Championships hosted by Otterbein. A lot of solid finishes all-around by the Blue Streaks, including multiple new PRs.

Genevieve Arnold had a great day, as she achieved a new personal best in the 60m hurdles in both the prelims and the finals to finish third overall. She also placed 11th in the 60m dash.

The 60m dash was highlighted by two familiar faces in the event. For three and a half years, the sprints have been dominated by Lucia Cannata and Taylor Anthony. Cannata placed third in the finals after placing a time of 7.93 seconds in the prelims and finals. Taylor Anthony placed fifth in finals. Cannata also placed second in the 200m dash.

Claire Eberhardt placed fifth in the 800m, and Olivia Hurtt added another top-three finish in the Weight Throw, placing second. Autumn Hale also placed a respectable 7th in the 400m.

On the Men's side, Jimmy Kartsonas kept up what's been a fantastic season. He finished seventh in the 60m dash and third in the Long Jump. Zach Szafarski had a big day as well with two top-5 finishes. He placed fifth in the Shot Put and third in Weight Throw with a big PR.

Matt Russo also came in third in the Shot Put with a solid performance. Mark Zahren finished a solid eighth in the 200m dash, and Willis Goodwin notched seventh in the Triple Jump. Rounding out the day at Otterbein was Ryan Champa and Matt Costanzo finishing fourth and eighth, respectively.

Next week the Blue Streaks will be on double duty again, splitting between Kent State and Case Western Reserve, both on Saturday February 19.
