JCU Volleyball vs. Otterbein Featured as the OAC Game of the Week

The Blue Streaks come in as the underdog vs. the reigning OAC Champs.
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS -- Wednesday evening should be fun in the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center.

John Carroll Volleyball will face off with Otterbein in what should be an action-packed match. The contest carries extra importance beyond the weight it'll carry for Ohio Athletic Conference standings.

The conference has chosen JCU vs. Otterbein as the OAC Volleyball Game of the Week.

The Blue Streaks and Cardinals are well-acquainted, as the teams faced off in the OAC Tournament Championship last season. Otterbein won at home in a 3-0 conquest. The Cardinals have won 11 straight matches, with JCU's last win coming in 2016.

But the history is thrown out the window for this JCU team. Michele Benoit's squad is fresh off a great win over Ohio Northern on Saturday, which marked the team's first victory over ONU in Ada since 2001. The Polar Bears were previously ranked #24 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25. In the latest rankings, ONU dropped out while Otterbein continues to receive votes.

John Carroll features a dynamic front row with veterans such as Jennifer Follmer combined with youngsters such as Natalie Glowe. Maddie Maziarz is coming off a great week as the team's primary setter. Lexi MacDonald helps to anchor the backline as a star libero.
