WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio – As the fall quickly approaches, the John Carroll Women's Golf Team has concluded after their senior day in the JCU Fall Invitational at Manakiki Golf Course.

The previous warm weather in Northeast Ohio disappeared this past weekend, leaving harsh conditions for the competitors on Saturday.

"The course has always been very difficult and the weather played an enormous factor in the tournament," said head coach Missy Gedeon. "On Saturday, we had numerous periods of light rain along with the dropping temperatures and high winds."

Luckily, Sunday led to more ideal conditions, and the play was significantly better for the Blue Streaks.

Anna Schramko led the Blue Streaks with her consistent play throughout the weekend. Facing rough conditions, she shot a 99 on day one. The senior would follow up her strong first day with a 96 on the second day of the invitational, which granted her a score of 195 on the weekend.

"It was an exciting weekend with our home invitational and senior day," said Schramko. "Through the scattered rain and wind, our team continued to put up a fight. I am really proud of the girls, especially after being down some teammates."

Senior Becca Abbott and junior Isabella Mineo were right behind Schramko, with both shooting a 196 on the weekend. The duo had an outstanding second day, with Abbott shooting a 91 and Mineo finishing with a 93. Freshman Amanda Millis also stepped up for John Carroll, finishing with 198 on the weekend.

Wooster won the tournament with a team score of 656, defeating Mount Union on the tiebreaker, which was the fifth golfer (the team result for Mount Union in the PDF is incorrect due to a lineup error in Spikemark, which will be corrected). John Carroll finished in 11th place.

The invitational finalized the fall season for JCU, with play resuming for the Blue Streaks in the spring.
