ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The John Carroll Women's Track & Field team wrapped up their 2023 season with six athletes competing in three different events at the NCAA Championships.

The 4x100m relay team of Genevieve Arnold, Mia Scott, Taylor Anthony, and Rosie Murray just missed out on qualifying for the finals, as they came in ninth place in the preliminaries with a time of 47.27.

"I know you're always disappointed when you don't make the final," Blue Streak head coach Kyle Basista said about the relay.  "They came in ranked 13th and to get ninth in their first national meet for most of them, that is an accomplishment.  If we're at the point on the women's side where we're disappointed that they did not make the final, that's a good thing."

Kelsey Dunn wrapped up her John Carroll career with a 12th place performance in the discus.  The fifth-year senior goes down as one of the most decorated female throwers in program history, earning All-American honors twice in the discus in 2021 and 2022.

Erica Esper finished in 20th in the 10000m with a time of 36:20.70 in what was her third year qualifying in the event.

"I am proud of Erica's effort," Basista said.  "It was by far her best time by minutes at the national championships in the 10K, and she can definitely take some positives away from competing at another national championships."
