The Blue Streaks finished in fourth place as a team.
BOARDMAN, Ohio – The season is underway, with plenty of promise for John Carroll Women's Golf.

Due to the change in stat systems, official results were not submitted until Monday afternoon following Saturday's one-day YSU Kickoff. Youngstown State hosted at the Mill Creek Golf Course (North Course) in Boardman, Ohio.

As a team, the Blue Streaks finished in fourth place out of six teams, including second amongst the four Division III squads.

The course provided plenty of challenges for the golfers. The Donald Ross course is a beautiful one with especially nice trees, but the small greens led to tough chips, particularly with the slope of the greens. Golfers often needed to chip up and two putt.

Becca Abbott shined as the leader for the Blue & Gold. The Olmsted Falls native led JCU as the top scorer with a tally of 91, the first time that she has led the team with the low score.

Isabella Mineo was the lone Blue Streak who had played the course before. The junior from Kent turned in a score of 94 to tie for second on the team. Amanda Pancake also turned in a 94 in the season debut. Freshman Amanda Millis turned in the final score to count with a 95.

The Blue Streaks will be back in action on September 10 for the Mount Union Fall Invitational.
