London Hoyser Snags OAC Men's Golfer of the Week Award

London Hoyser won the award after his first collegiate event for JCU.
WESTERVILLE, Ohio – One week on campus, one award for London Hoyser.

The freshman made quite the debut over the weekend, fresh off his first week of classes as a student at John Carroll University.

And now, Hoyser has been crowned the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week.

Not long after finishing up Syllabus Week and meeting his new professors, Hoyser starred on the course for John Carroll Men's Golf at the Gatorade Collegiate, hosted by the College of Wooster, over two days on Saturday and Sunday.

The opening day went solidly for Hoyser, as he shot a 75 during his first round for JCU, participating as a member of the "A" team. But it was Sunday in which he did his spectacular work.

On his second day at Zoar Golf Course, Hoyser tallied a remarkable 68 (-4). It was the lowest round of the day, a very impressive 18 holes for the freshman (and for any individual golfer, for that matter). That gave Hoyser a total of 143 for the weekend, tying him for medalist honors.

By virtue of having the lowest Sunday score, Hoyser secured the tiebreaker for the medalist trophy.

You can catch Hoyser and the Blue Streaks at the Baldwin Wallace Fall Invitational at Pine Hills Golf Course on Sunday, September 10th.
