MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – While the hosts got out to a fast start, the visitors threw down the hammer in due time.

John Carroll Wrestling excelled in the team's final challenge of the annual trek to Florida. The Blue Streaks captured a dominant 46-10 win over St. Thomas University, an NAIA program in Florida.

The win provides a strong start for the Blue Streaks in the team's first action of 2024.

RESULTS

St. Thomas quickly opened with a pair of wins, sandwiched by a Ty Daugherty tech fall at 133 pounds, 18-1. But after the Bobcats took a 10-5 lead, it was all Blue Streaks.

Kyle Bizjak started the momentum with a 15-0 tech fall at 149. Patrick McGraw added to his program-best win total, winning by pin at 157. Adem Salek continued the strong efforts, picking up six points at 165.

Wills Bronson kept up his strong freshman campaign today at 174. The Memphis native pinned his foe in just 41 seconds. Jesse Kanatzar followed with a pin of his own at 184, which took a bit longer in 2:40.

The dual concluded with a pair of forfeit wins, first by Bear Horgan at 197 and Thomas Lunt at 285.

After returning to Ohio, the Blue Streaks will prep for next Saturday's return to action at Wilmington College.
