Four Blue Streaks Named to All-OAC Team, Led by Rosado as Forward of the Year

John Carroll notched four honorees in its final year in the OAC.
WESTERVILLE -- John Carroll's Women's Soccer team finished second in the OAC with their 7-1-1 record and had an overall record of 12-7-1 for their 2024 season. JCU finished just short of its second straight Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Championship, falling in the final, 3-2. As a result of their incredible play, four John Carroll players were recognized as All-OAC players.

First Team All-OAC & Forward of the Year - Madyson Rosado
The senior forward is cemented in John Carroll Women's Soccer history, ranking 4th all-time at JCU in career goals (32) and 9th in points (73), all despite missing first year with injury. Every year, Rosado has proven her outstanding play. First, achieving Second Team All-OAC in 2022, then First Team All-OAC in 2023, and now First Team All-OAC again this year. Rosado was also a two-time OAC Athlete of the Week this season (10/14/24 and 10/28/24), and finished third in the OAC in goals (10). She also ranked fifth in the OAC with her 23 points. Rosado is JCU's first forward of the year since Bailey Fischer in 2017 and fifth overall in program history (Fischer, Kaylin Ackerly in 2012, Maria Meyer in 2002, and Julie Scaffidi in 2000).

First Team All-OAC - Kathryn Shaffer
A fantastic way to close up her third year at John Carroll as a key defender for her team, Shaffer registered a total of 1,540 minutes in her 19 games played this year. The defender played the full 90 minutes in the OAC Semifinal matchup and helped secure a shutout against Capital's formidable offense. She has a commanding presence in the backfield and was able to help lead her team to the OAC Championship game once again this year.

Second Team All-OAC - Alli Malinky
This junior has proven her dominance on the field while playing both midfielder and forward for the Blue Streaks. Malinky played all 20 games for the Women's Soccer team with a total of 1,695 minutes played (second most on the team). This will be her 2nd year in a row being awarded Second Team All-OAC, an incredibly well-deserved accomplishment.

Third Team All-OAC - Madeline Martin
The sophomore goalkeeper has been a driving force to her teams' success in her two years at John Carroll so far. Martin achieved the OAC Athlete of the Week not once, but twice this year (10/21/24 and 10/14/24). This comes as no surprise since she placed second in the OAC for saves (109) and shutouts, as well as placing third in the OAC for save percentage (.858). Building on the history of JCU Women's Soccer, Martin currently holds the top spot in program career records for goals-against-average and save percentage.
