Claire Eberhardt Breaks The School Record In The 1500 With A Time oF 4:29.99 And Puts Her At 14th In Division III
BEREA, Ohio – As the skies over top George Finnie Stadium turned dark, some twilight magic occurred.

Final Results

While Baldwin Wallace's annual Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet is known for its after-dusk events that highlight the event, the women's 1500m provided plenty of excitement when the sun set as John Carroll's Claire Eberhardt set a new school record with a mark of 4:29.99 in her fourth-place finish.

The mark not only bested her PR by about seven seconds, but it also tied for the 14 th best time in all of Division III which makes it almost certain that the senior would qualify for her first NCAA Championships in her career.

JCU's strongest contingent was in the event as well, as five other runners set PRs in the race. Morgan Edwards finished 10 th overall with a time of 4:38.93, while freshman Alyssa Vis set hers with a mark of 4:42.70. Carlee Blankenship, Sarah Weldon and Tori Dunham rounded out the others.

Genevieve Arnold, who has already qualified for the NCAA Championships in the long jump, also broke her own school record in the 100m finals, as the senior placed fourth with a mark of 11.93 seconds. Mia Scott, who qualified for the final in the prelims, ran a PR of 12.40 in the qualifier. Arnold is currently ranked 18th in the country with that time.

In the 800m, Ellie Kitsmiller finished in 8 th (2:14.47) while Cassie Klein and Tori Dunham each hit PRs in the event.

Grace McKoon placed 15 th overall in the 5000m (18:56.56), and freshman Ella Julien accomplished a PR as well.

Rosie Murray placed 11 th in the 400m hurdles to round out the top competitors in the track events for the Blue Streaks.

In the field events, Tori Miller finished 8 th in the triple jump (10.79m) and Breanna Berwald placed 13 th in the discus (34.66). Miller also competed in the 1500m for the first time on the track during her final collegiate meet. On Thursday, Cara Jewett took 13 th in the hammer throw (39.49m).

Up next, a small contingent of Blue Streaks will compete at Mount Union's Last Chance Meet on Wednesday, May 15-Thursday, May 16.
