CLEVELAND – The offense has been a marvel to behold for John Carroll Football fans all season long.

In the last week of the regular season, the Blue Streaks put on another show, scoring 48 points en route to a victory over Denison, clinching the North Coast Athletic Conference outright.

The offense's ringleader, Nick Semptimphelter, has been rewarded with the NCAC's Offensive Player of the Week honors. This is his second such honor this season.

The Tennessean has guided one of the most efficient offenses in the nation, particularly in passing. Semptimphelter's skills were on full display on Saturday, as the quarterback completed 20-of-26 passes for 297 yards and 3 touchdowns. Two of the scores occurred in the third quarter on passes to Tyren Montgomery, effectively putting the ballgame out of reach.

Semptimphelter's outstanding game cemented what has been a remarkable season. The veteran is first in Division III, and second only to Ohio State's Julian Sayin (80.1%) in all of the NCAA. Additionally, Semptimphelter ranks fifth in NCAA Division III in passing efficiency at a 194.6 clip.

Consistency has been king this year. Semptimphelter has a passing touchdown in every game and has notched 200 or more passing yards in every game except for the Oberlin win.

In terms of career numbers, Semptimphelter stands fourth in JCU history in passing touchdowns (65) and fifth in passing yards (5,446). His 78% completion rate is tops in program history.

Semptimphelter and the Blue Streaks have a first round bye before hosting #17/20 Randolph-Macon in the Second Round of the NCAA Playoffs.
