The Blue Streaks are perched atop the men's standings and are fifth in the women's standings

CLEVELAND – The first fall as members of the North Coast Athletic Conference produced fantastic first results for John Carroll Athletics.

The Blue Streaks thrived in their introduction to the NCAC, earning three outright titles this fall.

John Carroll stands second in the 2025-26 NCAC All-Sports Championship race, including an impressive first in the men's standings and a narrow fifth on the women's side.

NCAC Press Release with Full Standings

Per the NCAC, "The All-Sports champion earns the Dennis M. Collins All-Sports Trophy, given annually to the school that performs the best across the NCAC's 23 sports. Eleven points are awarded for a first-place finish, ten for a second, nine for a third, and so on. Men's and women's performances are combined, exemplifying the North Coast's commitment to equity and balance among programs."

The highlights from the fall have been plentiful for the Blue Streaks. No NCAC school won more trophies than the Blue Streaks this fall.

John Carroll captured the football crown with a perfect 8-0 conference record. Jeff Behrman's team earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs and will play Randolph-Macon in the Second Round at Don Shula Stadium on Saturday, November 29. JCU picked up 11 points for football.

JCU Women's Soccer made quite the entrance into the league, winning the regular season crown and then conquering the tournament for 11 points. The Blue Streaks made the program's third NCAA Tournament appearance while repping the NCAC before falling in the opening round this past weekend. Emily Patrzyk won the NCAC's Offensive Player of the Year award while Brooke Berkowitz claimed the NCAC's Newcomer of the Year distinction.

Men's Cross Country roared for its inaugural NCAC crown and 11 points. Nate Julian secured NCAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year honors with a first-place finish, with Sam Su and Ian Paul sweeping the top three to help JCU dominate the field. Charles Payne won the NCAC Newcomer of the Year award. Su will rep JCU at this weekend's NCAA Division III Championships.

While Women's Cross Country didn't win the title, the Blue Streaks still picked up 10 important points. Anne Rea led the way for a runner-up finish at the NCAC Championships, earning First Team All-NCAC honors. Abby Schroff will rep the Blue Streaks at this weekend's NCAA Division III Championships.

JCU Volleyball impressed in its first season in the league. The Blue Streaks finished as the regular season and tournament runners-up. All-NCAC First Teamers Natalie Glowe and Olivia Mogyordy guided a team that improved over the course of the season and will challenge for the NCAC crown in years to come.

To round things out, Men's Soccer snagged 6.5 points. In a packed league, the Blue Streaks battled down to the final day of the regular season. JCU had the chance to make the NCAC Tournament, but lost on the season's last day to eventual second-place and nationally-ranked Denison. With a young core, this Blue Streaks team looks to be on the upswing in years to come.

JCU leads the NCAC men's standings with 28.5 points, just 0.5 points ahead of DePauw. JCU is a narrow fifth in the women's standings, just 4.5 points behind first-place DePauw. JCU does not yet compete in field hockey, which hinders the Blue Streaks in the standings.

Wooster won three of the first four NCAC All-Sports championships, interrupted only by Denison in year two. Ohio Wesleyan followed with a six-year run, leading to titles by Wooster (twice), Wittenberg (once), Denison (nine), OWU (twice), and then a tie between Denison and OWU in 2009. Wittenberg earned its second All-Sports title in 2010, followed by Denison in 2011 and DePauw in 2012. Denison then claimed back-to-back titles in 2013 and 2014, before DePauw regained the championship in 2015. The Big Red reclaimed the title after the 2015-16 academic year, followed by DePauw in 2017 before Denison once again earned back-to-back titles the next two years. An all-sports trophy was not awarded in 2020 or 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Big Red then secured four-straight titles from 2022-25 to collect the last six trophies.
