Women’s Track & Field Performs Mid-Week At Walsh Invitational

Women's Track & Field Competes At Walsh Invitational Hosted By The University Of Mount Union
ALLIANCE, Ohio – The John Carroll Women's Track & Field program traveled to Alliance, Ohio for the Walsh University Invitational at Kehres Stadium hosted by the University of Mount Union. 

This was the final regular season meet before heading into championship competition for the women as they look to put an emphasis on performances before the OAC Outdoor Championships.

In the field events, senior Massey Andrykovitch would make an appearance in the women's long jump and she would place 12th overall with a mark of 4.88 meters. Ella Zambruno (4.86 meters) and Camryn Brandetsas (4.58 meters) would place in the top 20. 

The women's 1500 meter run would be the first event to start for the Blue Streaks. Junior Alyssa Vis would be the first Blue Streak to cross the finish line, placing second overall with a time of 4:39.03. Next would be junior Abby Schroff placing fourth overall with a time of 4:43.57, followed by senior Annie Higgins with a seventh place finish, clocking in at 4:45.61. Anne Rea would place herself in the top 10, running 4:48.75 in the event. 

In the women's 400 meter dash, junior Kaleigh McNamara would place 14th overall with a time of 1:01.43, followed by junior Morgan Dobos placing 26th overall with a time of 1:03.79. 

The women's 800 meter run was well-represented as sophomore Kelsey Sheridan would be the first Blue Streak runner to cross the finish line, placing 11th overall with a time of 2:22.36. Meah Prutzman (2:26.73) and Elizabeth Heim (2:33.40) would place themselves in the top 25. 

Next up for the women will be the 2025 OAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio. Meet information and preview will be posted next week.
