Odelli, Orendi, Smith, and Trunzo are CSC All-District Honorees
After a season of impressive performances both on the softball field and in the classroom, a quartet of Blue Streaks are receiving well deserved recognition.

Kaylyn Odelli, Danielle Orendi, Melissa Smith and Kendall Trunzo have been honored with College Sports Communicators Academic All-District distinction.

A constant contributor since her freshman year on the diamond, Kaylyn Odelli continued her consistency this season. While starting in all 29 games she played in, the senior ranked second for the Streaks with 27 hits on the season and was tied for second with 39 total bases. The utility player was steady in the field at whatever position she played, notching a .934 fielding percentage.

In the classroom, Odelli is set to graduate with a degree in Data Science, and was a member of the Academic All-OAC team in all three eligible seasons.

Danielle Orendi was as impressive in her fifth season in the pitcher's circle as ever, imposing her will on opposing batters en route to being named All-OAC Honorable Mention. The graduate student ranked fifth in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 2.67 ERA on the season, fourth in the conference with 82 strikeouts and tops with 7.3 strikeouts per 7 innings. The Blue Streak ace's highlight of the season was a masterful 8 inning, 3 hit, 0 run, 1 walk, 11 strikeout domination of Oberlin on April 6 in a 1-0 victory.

Orendi graduated with a degree in Marketing but is set to receive her Master's in Business Administration at the conclusion of this semester. As an undergraduate student, Orendi was named to the Academic All-OAC team from 2022-2024.

Melissa Smith was impressive this season both at, and behind the plate. The catcher led the Streaks with 10 doubles, 4 home runs, 20 RBIs, 47 total bases, and a .588 slugging percentage. Defensively, the junior was solid with a .960 fielding percentage at catcher and started 29 of the Streaks' 30 games this season.

The finance major is on track to graduate after one last season in Blue and Gold and will be a two-time Academic All-OAC recipient.

Kendall Trunzo had another solid season to end her impressive Blue Streak career. The senior was the Streaks' batting champion, hitting .337 and led the Streaks in hits with 29. The outfielder started in all 30 games for the Blue Streaks and played impressive defense on the season with a .966 fielding percentage.

Trunzo is set to become a three-time Academic All-OAC honoree and will graduate this spring with a degree in Sociology & Criminology.
