Cross Country/Track & Field Coach Steve Fuelling Inducted Into Milford High School Hall of Fame

Steve Fuelling Earns Induction Into The Milford High School Athletics Hall Of Fame

Steve Fuelling, John Carroll's head coach of the men's and women's cross country teams and assistant track and field coach, has been recognized with a significant honor.

Fuelling is set to be inducted into the Milford High School (Michigan) Hall of Fame, honoring a decorated athletic career that laid the foundation for his success as a collegiate coach.

A multi-sport standout during his high school career, Fuelling earned 11 varsity letters across cross country, track and field, and basketball.

On the course and track, Fuelling achieved success at the state level. He was crowned the Oakland County Track and Field Champion in the 3200 meters, earned All-State Cross Country honors in 2007, and followed with All-State recognition in track and field in 2008. His leadership extended beyond distance running, as he was also named Team MVP of the basketball program during the 2007–08 season.

Following his high school career, Fuelling attended Grand Valley State University, where he competed in Cross Country and Track & Field. He continued to excel at the collegiate level, earning the GLIAC Cross Country Individual Championship in 2012 and being named the GLIAC Athlete of the Year. Earlier in his career, Fuelling was recognized as the 2009 GLIAC Freshman Runner of the Year.

Now in his second season as head coach at John Carroll University, Fuelling has made an immediate impact on the Blue Streaks' cross country programs. Guiding the team into the North Coast Athletic Conference, Fuelling's men's cross country team secured an NCAC championship in the program's first year in the league. He also developed two national qualifiers and numerous all-conference honorees across both the men's and women's teams.

Fuelling's induction into the Milford High School Hall of Fame not only recognizes an outstanding athletic career, but also reflects the leadership and competitive excellence he brings to John Carroll Athletics.

Steve will be recognized for his induction on Friday, January 30 and will represent Milford's Class of 2008.
