CLEVELAND – Entering the week, Devin Taylor was not on the two-deep or on the radar. A pair of impressive runs changed that.

The sophomore starred in John Carroll Football's 69-23 victory over the College of Wooster on Saturday. And so, he has the distinction of being the first JCU player to win the offensive player of the week accolade.

Devin Taylor is an NCAC Athlete of the Week following his strong performance running the ball on Saturday.

The Pittsburgh native started the scoring, reaching the end zone for his first collegiate touchdown on a 15-yard scamper. But Taylor – with Cohen Klimak and Quincy Newsom sidelined due to minor injuries – wasn't done.

Taylor ripped an 80-yard run early in the second quarter to make it a 28-0 ballgame for the Blue Streaks, helping to put the game out of reach early.

For the game, Taylor carried the ball just 10 times, one of eight Blue Streaks to get a carry. But Taylor sure maximized his opportunities, finishing with 161 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Taylor and the Blue Streaks will be back in action on Saturday at DePauw for a huge Halloween matchup.
