As the fall season heads toward playoffs, winter sports begin to take over.

A spooktacular weekend sees the fall season heading for NCAC playoffs and the winter season taking its first steps.

Here's what to look out for:

Volleyball

At 16-8 overall, the Blue Streaks have locked in for the last few games of the season. Sweeping the Kenyon Owls on Dig Pink Night, the offense tallied an impressive .361 attack average. Olivia Mogyordy had a fantastic game for the night's namesake, nabbing 14 digs.

Hosting their final home game, the Blue Streaks face off against NCAC rival The College of Wooster on Saturday, October 31 at 1 pm. A win is a must to secure a home game in the conference tournament.

Men's Soccer

A difficult tie against Oberlin gives JCU Men's Soccer a 6-7-3 overall leading into their last game of the season. Currently in a four-way tie for third place in the NCAC rankings, the team will need to play hard for one last win to clinch a tournament bid.

Playing at Don Shula Stadium, the Blue Streaks compete against Wabash College on Saturday, October 31 at 1 pm.

Football

Another extraordinary success for the Blue Streaks carries them into this weekend. Winning 69-23 over Wooster, there was no surprise when Devin Taylor was named NCAC Football Offense Player of the Week. Taylor recorded 161 rushing yards, 80 of which were a single break out run to the endzone, and 2 touchdowns.

The Blue Streaks head for Greencastle, Indiana this weekend to face NCAC rival DePauw University on Saturday, October 31 at 1 pm. The game carries massive playoff implications for John Carroll.

Field Hockey

Another double overtime ended in a heartbreaking loss for JCU Field Hockey last weekend. The team fought hard for the win, with Kierra Maxie gaining her tenth goal of the season and goalie Ellison Hilgendorf recording 17 saves on the day.

The Blue Streaks move onto their final game of their debut season, traveling to Oberlin to face the Yeowomen on Saturday, October 31 at 11 am. This matchup will wrap up the inaugural season for the program.

Men's and Women's Cross Country

The NCAC Championship has arrived for cross country. Both the JCU Men's and Women's teams have been slotted first in pre-championship polls. Heading for Oberlin, OH, the Women's 6k is on Saturday, October 31 at 11 am before the Men's 8k at 12 pm.

Women's Soccer

The Blue Streaks faced a tough loss to the Fighting Scots last weekend. Shots on goal came from a variety of different players, including Julia Niehaus, Andrea Quintero Delgado, Lucy Kuerbis, and Brooke Berkowitz.

The final regular season match up for JCU Women's Soccer will be in Greencastle, Indiana, against DePauw University on Saturday, October 31 at 2:30 pm. A win is a must for the Blue Streaks to clinch a spot in the conference tournament.

Women's Wrestling

The start of a new season celebrates four years of JCU Women's Wrestling. Seniors Meghan Edwards and Gwyneth Edwards have been with the team since its inception and are ready for their last year. Taylor MacAdam, Addy Crane, and Nora Mooney were all honored as NWCA Scholar All-Americans over the off-season.

The Blue Streaks kick off their 2026-27 season with the JCU Round Robin in the DeCarlo Varsity Center on Sunday, November 1 at 11 am.

Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving

A win for both teams over Grove City College has kicked off the Blue Streaks season with an exciting 2-0 dual record. First year Maya Goldstein was awarded NCAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week for her impressive performance at their last meet. She secured victories in two events, placed second in one event, and scored 22 points overall.

JCU heads for its first away meet this weekend, competing against Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on Friday, October 30 at 6 pm and Saturday, October 31 at 10:30 am.

Club Hockey

The Blue Streaks are on a roll, securing a five-game winning streak. Currently at the top of the CHMA standings, the team is an impressive 6 points ahead of second place. Charlie Tuggey sits at fourth in the nation in assists with 15 and Colin Cronin is fifth in the nation for total points with 25.

Splitting the weekend home and away, JCU Hockey seeks to maintain their perfect winning record at home. The team will host the University of Toledo at Gilmour Academy on Friday, October 30 at 8:10 pm before traveling to Toledo Ice House on Saturday, October 31 to compete at 7:30 pm.
