The Blue Streaks' "A" Team finished sixth in Camp Lejeune

It was a busy weekend for John Carroll Men's Golf.

The Blue Streaks split squads, with the "A" Team heading to North Carolina for the Intercollegiate Golf Championship. In a strong field of teams, John Carroll tabbed a sixth-place effort.

Meanwhile, the "B" Team didn't need to get on a flight, heading instead to Alliance. In a team field full of "A" squads at the Mount Union Spring Invitational, the Blue Streaks notched a third-place effort.

CAMP LEJEUNE, NC – The Blue Streak team played in one of college golf's most unique tournaments over the weekend at Camp Lejeune.  Consistent play over three rounds had the squad finishing in sixth place. JCU was led by Justy VonLehmden once again.

Greeting the team daily at the entry gate were U.S. Marines armed with M4 rifles and bar code scanners ensuring secure entry to the base.  Marine Veterans and golfers parents were able to participate in the first two rounds in a team format with the collegians providing a truly memorable event.  The collegians played the final 18 holes on their own.

VonLehmden played well enough to finish T11 with rounds of 72-74-70.  Dan Donahue started out strong with a 67 over the first 18 holes and closed with 76-74 finishing second among the team and T14 overall.

Wade Boyle (T29), London Hoyser (T54) and Austin Malley (T94) rounded out the five man roster.
