Justy enjoyed a great day, but the Blue Streaks dropped two spots to 18th

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The humid Florida weather perhaps zapped John Carroll Men's Golf of its magic on Thursday.

The Blue Streaks dropped a pair of spots in the team standings to 18th with a team score of 307 (+19) during Round 3 of the NCAA Division III Championships at Mission Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.

For the second time in three rounds, the Clevelanders took on the El Campeon Course, a par-72 track measuring at 6,678 yards. JCU started on the No. 10 hole and three of five players recorded bogeys, a bad omen for a hot day of golf.

Still, Justy VonLemden soared in a major highlight for John Carroll with a four-under-par round, the best yet by a Blue Streak.

"Overall the team was flat today. Maybe, the heat caught up to us," said Head Coach Jeff Pawlowski. "Justy VonLehmden continued to lead the team with a four under par 68. A very good score today with tricky pin locations. His two chip-in eagles was a personal best. We are going to put today behind us, get some rest and focus on finishing the season on a high note tomorrow."

VonLehmden roared for an early eagle on No. 14, a 532-yard mammoth Par 5. The Findlay native birdied on No. 16 to head into the turn at two-under-par. The Saint John's Jesuit grad kept on thriving on his final nine, beginning with another beautiful eagle on the Par 5 No. 1 hole. By knocking in birdies on two of his final four holes, the junior turned in a scorecard of 68 (-4) in a phenomenal round.

Daniel Donahue stood as the only Streak to birdie the opening hole on No. 10, and that mark proved to be the highlight of the day for the Pittsburgh native. The junior recovered from a couple early doubles to tally par seven straight holes to finish strong at one-over-par for his final nine. Donahue registered a 78 (+6) for the day.

London Hoyser gritted through the round in the heat, as the New Yorker netted JCU's third tally. The junior corralled a score of 80 (+8) for the day.

Wade Boyle provided the final score for JCU. The Greensburg, Pennsylvania native carded an 81 (+9) for the afternoon.

Austin Malley rounded things out for the Blue Streaks. The junior hit a birdie on No. 14 to provide a highlight in a day ending with an 82 (+10).
