The John Carroll women's basketball team may be sad to see the calendar turn to 2010, as they closed out 2009 with an emphatic 83-46 road victory over Marietta that marked the Blue Streaks' fourth consecutive win.
Box Score
John Carroll never trailed, and only faced one tie throughout the 40 minutes. That occured less than two minutes into the contest at 2-2.
Once the Blue Streaks got rolling, the outcome would become a foregone conclusion. With seven different players contributing, JCU scored 20 of the game's first 24 points and led 40-16 at the half.
The host Pioneers showed life early in the second half by scoring the first seven points to trim the JCU lead to 17 points at 40-23, but the Blue Streaks would steadily build the lead for the remainder of the contest up to the final margin of 27 points.
Stellar performances were aplenty for John Carroll (6-5, 3-2 OAC), which won for the fifth time in its last six games.
