The Blue Streaks enjoyed one of the best seasons in program history

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – The John Carroll Women's Basketball team enjoyed one of the most successful seasons in program history this winter.

Led by Head Coach Beth Andrews, The Blue Streaks were finalists in their inaugural NCAC tournament appearance, and made a run to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.

Their profound success on the floor has earned them much deserved recognition from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. In their season-ending poll, John Carroll was ranked 12th in the nation. In the D3hoops.com Top 25, John Carroll did even better, with a #10 ranking in the final poll.

Both high rankings are a testament to the Blue Streaks' elite play in the 2025-26 season.

It was a historic season to say the least. Led by a strong group of seniors, the Blue Streaks finished with a record of 26-5 (11-3 in North Coast Athletic Conference play). Twenty six victories marks the most wins in a single season in program history. In postseason play, JCU advanced to their first ever Round of 16 appearance in the NCAA tournament, before falling to the eventual national champion Denison Big Red.

Following their outstanding season, three Blue Streaks were named All-NCAC honorees. Ava Ryncarz was named First-Team, Graci Semptimphelter Second-Team, and Carly Perusek Third-Team. In addition to All-NCAC honors, Ryncarz was named First-Team All-Region and Fourth-Team All-American by D3hoops.com, making her just the fifth D3hoops.com All-American in program history. Ryncarz accepted WBCA Honorable Mention All-American honors, as well, just the seventh Blue Streak to earn the recognition from the coaches' association.

With the aforementioned seniors graduating, along with four-year starter Carmen Heuker, the Blue Streaks will take on a much younger look in the 2026-27 season, with eyes still on capturing an NCAC title.
